KASNEB Accredited Institutions FAQS
Q: How many KASNEB-accredited institutions are there in Kenya?
A: As of May 2020, there were 66 fully accredited and 43 interim accredited institutions.
Q: How long does it take to get KASNEB exam results?
A: Normally, it takes 2 months after the end of the exam. But check the KASNEB website for the latest updates on the time they will release exams for a specific cohort.
Q: How much does it cost to do a KASNEB exam?
A: The cost of the KASNEB exams per paper ranges between Ksh. 1000 to Ksh. 10000. The amount depends on the professional course and the level of the paper.
Q: Do I need to be a registered student of the accredited institution to write the exams?
A: No, you don’t have to register as a student at an accredited institution to write the exams. KASNEB is an independent examining body and hence you can write the exams without enrolling at any of their approved institutions. However, it’s recommended that you go through college to get proper training for the exam. You can also decide to use past papers from KASNEB for self-study.
Q: What is the difference between interim accredited and fully accredited institutions?
A: The main difference is that fully accredited KASNEB institutions have met all the requirements of accreditation such as having well-trained lecturers, a library, and enough infrastructure. On the other hand, interim accredited institutions are yet to meet some of these criteria.
Q: What does it mean when you say “KASNEB approved colleges”?
A: KASNEB approved colleges are institutions that have been audited and passed the exam body accreditation requirements.
